Cobourg Police Service has laid a series of charges following multiple investigations over several days.
In one case, a 25-year-old North York man faces 13 charges after police investigated a stolen rental truck reported February 11 from a business in Cobourg’s north end. The vehicle was seen the following day and the driver was arrested. Police say the investigation revealed alleged criminal activity linked to Uxbridge, along with fraudulent credit cards, forged driver’s licences and cocaine. Charges include possession of property obtained by crime, fraud-related offences, possession of forged documents, drug possession and Highway Traffic Act violations. He was released to a surety after a bail hearing.
On February 12, officers arrested a 29-year-old Cobourg woman who was wanted on five outstanding warrants. During the arrest, police say suspected fentanyl was located. She faces multiple fail to attend charges, breach of probation, theft under $5,000 and possession of a Schedule I substance. She was remanded into custody.
Early February 15, a 31-year-old Cobourg man was arrested following reports of someone going through vehicles at a business on Elgin Street West. He faces theft under $5,000, possession under $5,000 and probation-related charges and was remanded into custody.
