Port Hope Police say a 31 year old man is facing multiple charges following an early morning traffic stop on February 8.
According to police, officers identified a vehicle displaying licence plates that were not registered to the vehicle at approximately 1:59 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted on Peter Street.
Police allege that further investigation revealed the driver was operating the vehicle while under suspension. Officers also confirmed that the vehicle was uninsured and that the driver had failed to apply for a vehicle permit upon becoming the owner.
As a result, the Port Hope man was issued four Part III summonses to appear in court. The charges include use plate not authorized for a vehicle, driving while under suspension, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and failing to apply for a permit upon becoming the owner.
Police say the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
