The Town of Cobourg says half load restrictions for commercial vehicles will take effect this Monday, March 2 on several designated streets.
The seasonal restrictions are put in place each spring to protect roadways during the freeze thaw cycle, when pavement structures have reduced load bearing capacity.
Half load signs will be posted on Danforth Road starting one kilometre east of Parkview Hills to Jarvis Road, Jarvis Road from Danforth Road to Elgin Street East, Stanton Road south of Elgin Street East, Elgin Street East from Jarvis Road to Brook Road North, Workman Road from County Road 2 to Elgin Street East and Greer Road from Elgin Street East to Danforth Road.
The Town says the restrictions will remain in place until the signs are removed in mid to late April, depending on weather conditions.
