A 42-year-old Cobourg man is facing charges after an intimate partner violence investigation, say police.
The Cobourg Police Service said their investigation started after officers responded to a domestic disturbance report at a local residence at about 1 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2026.
Upon arrival, officers said they spoke with the complainant and learned that a verbal dispute had allegedly escalated into a physical altercation, and personal property was also damaged during the incident.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 42-year-old Cobourg man was arrested and charged with assault – spousal, and mischief – spousal.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused was later released on an undertaking with a future court date, reported police.
