Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre is inviting Northumberland residents to save the date for its 10th annual Women’s Day Luncheon, returning May 14 at the Best Western Plus Cobourg Inn and Convention Centre. Registration opens March 31 through Cornerstone’s website, and organizers say the event is typically well attended.
Cayne Fordham, Manager of Fundraising and Communications at Cornerstone, says early planning matters.
This year’s luncheon will feature guest speaker Brandi Leifso, founder and CEO of Evio Beauty. Cornerstone says Leifso is a nationally recognized speaker and advocate for survivors of domestic violence, and her story will be a central part of the afternoon.
Fordham says the luncheon offers more than the keynote. Guests can also expect time to connect with others in the community, enjoy lunch and take part in a silent auction.
Funds raised support Cornerstone’s programs and services for women and children across Northumberland County, including community services, counselling, shelter, housing support, family court support and prevention programming.
Fordham also credited the community support like that of Part-Time CFO Services, that helps make the luncheon possible.
More information and ticket details will be available soon through Cornerstone’s website.
