Cobourg residents are being invited to help shape the future of parks and recreation in the community during an upcoming public open house later this month.
The Town of Cobourg says community members are encouraged to attend a Parks and Recreation Master Plan open house taking place Monday, May 25 at the Cobourg Community Centre.
The event runs from 5 until 7 p.m. in the Cameco Rooms.
Town staff and project consultants will be on hand throughout the evening to guide residents through the draft Parks and Recreation Master Plan, answer questions and collect community feedback.
Officials say the plan will help guide future priorities related to parks, recreation spaces, facilities and programming within Cobourg.
The Town says public input will play an important role in shaping the final version of the master plan before it is finalized.
Residents unable to attend the in person session will still have an opportunity to participate online through the Engage Cobourg platform.
The draft plan and online feedback tools will be available beginning May 20 and remain open until June 8.
The Town says the consultation process is intended to help ensure future recreation and parks planning reflects community priorities and needs as Cobourg continues to grow.
Additional information about the project and online participation opportunities can be found through the Town of Cobourg’s Engage Cobourg website.
