If you’re looking to apply to be a vendor or performer at this year’s Applefest in Brighton, time is running out.
Applications are due this coming Monday, June 1, organizers are reminding residents.
Applefest is Brighton’s biggest event of the year and can draw more than 20,000 visitors to the region during the last weekend in September.
This year’s festival runs Thursday, Sept. 24 to Sunday, Sept. 27.
Saturday, Sept. 26 is typically the biggest draw, with the traditional street fair taking over downtown Brighton.
If you were looking to set up a booth or perform as part of the festivities, application forms and more information around requirements and the like is accessible via the municipality’s website. However, hard copies are also accessible at the Municipal Centre (35 Alice St.)
The three spots for vendors include the beloved street fair on Main, the car show at Brighton Public School (for vehicle-related vendors only) and the Children’s Village at King Edward Park (for kids/youth-related vendors only.)
For musicians, Brighton’s Applefest advisory committee is looking for artists wanting to perform on the Saturday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. outdoors at Memorial Park downtown.
Organizers continue to encourage potential applicants to read vendor terms and conditions carefully, and remind people that no extensions are being granted, and no applications will be reviewed after the June 1 deadline.
What’s more, if you’re submitting an online application, people should ensure they receive a confirmation email with a reference number.
This is the 52nd year for the signature fall festival.
