The Town of Cobourg is launching a new tourism information centre aimed at helping visitors and residents make the most of everything the community has to offer.
The Experience Cobourg Tourism Information Hub is opening at 35 Albert Street in Rotary Harbourfront Park and will serve as a central destination for information on local attractions, events, businesses and recreational opportunities.
Town officials say the hub has been designed to welcome visitors, support local tourism operators and encourage exploration of Cobourg’s waterfront, downtown and cultural attractions.
The facility will feature tourism information, promotional materials and locally inspired merchandise, including apparel offered by the Victoria Hall Volunteers.
The hub will be staffed by the Experience Cobourg team and will also provide public washroom access. A security presence will be maintained at the site to help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for visitors.
The opening comes as Cobourg enters its busiest tourism period of the year. The town’s peak tourism season typically runs from May through October and includes major attractions such as Victoria Beach, the marina, campground, downtown shopping district and a busy schedule of festivals and events.
Signature events including the Cobourg Waterfront Festival and Sandcastle Festival continue to draw thousands of visitors annually, contributing to the local economy and supporting businesses throughout the community.
Residents and visitors are invited to attend an official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new tourism hub on Friday, June 12 at 11 a.m.
The Tourism Information Hub will operate seven days a week from June 12 through August 31, with regular hours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The town says additional hours may be offered depending on staffing availability, with limited operations expected to continue into September and October.
