The Municipality of Port Hope is inviting aspiring entrepreneurs, small business owners and community members to take part in a new event focused on business development and economic opportunity.
Inspired in Hope, scheduled for July 21, is a half-day entrepreneurship event designed to help residents build the skills, knowledge and connections needed to start or grow a business.
Municipal officials say the initiative comes as development activity continues to accelerate across Northumberland County and neighbouring regions.
Mayor Olena Hankivsky says the event is intended to ensure local residents are prepared to benefit from future economic growth.
“Port Hope is preparing for growth, but that growth must feel relevant and accessible to the people who call our community home,” Hankivsky said in a release. “Inspired in Hope is about helping residents see themselves in that future and connecting them with the tools, knowledge, and networks they need.”
The event will feature entrepreneur-focused workshops, an interactive panel discussion and opportunities to meet directly with organizations that provide business support services, financing and mentorship.
Organizers say the event is designed to appeal to a wide audience, including aspiring entrepreneurs, established small business owners, youth, side-hustle operators and anyone interested in exploring new economic opportunities.
Inspired in Hope is being delivered through a partnership involving the Municipality of Port Hope, Business in the Streets, the Business & Entrepreneurship Centre Northumberland, the Port Hope and District Chamber of Commerce and the Port Hope Heritage Business Improvement Area.
Registration details, exhibitor information and additional event details are available through the municipality’s business development webpage.
