The Cobourg Kodiaks will have their playoff hopes on the line Saturday when they visit the Owen Sound North Stars in their final regular season game.
Cobourg enters the matchup with a 9-8 record and sits two points behind the Brooklin Lacrosse Club for the fourth and final Major Series Lacrosse playoff position.
The Kodiaks had been holding a tie-breaker advantage over Brooklin, but that changed after Brooklin picked up a 14-1 win over the Oakville Rock on Wednesday night to move two points ahead in the standings.
A victory over Owen Sound would allow Cobourg to move back into the playoff picture and secure a postseason berth.
The Kodiaks have already found success against Owen Sound this season, winning both previous meetings between the two teams.
Owen Sound enters Saturday’s game with a 1-15 record, but Cobourg will need to stay focused with the season on the line.
The final regular season game gives the Kodiaks an opportunity to control their own playoff fate and continue their push for a championship.
