Residents of Hamilton Township will have an opportunity to hear from candidates for township council at an election forum next week.
The event is scheduled for Sept. 10 at Cold Springs Memorial Hall and is being organized by the Citizens’ Council of Hamilton Township and CFUW-Northumberland.
All township residents are invited, with audience members encouraged to submit questions on issues facing the community.
Among the topics expected to be raised are agricultural land, tourism, population growth, housing and plans for a new nuclear facility at Wesleyville.
The forum begins at 6:30 p.m., with light refreshments provided by CFUW-Northumberland.
Organizers say the event is intended to give residents a chance to hear directly from candidates and compare their positions ahead of the Oct. 26 municipal election.
