Port Hope voters now have a new online resource to learn more about candidates running in the upcoming municipal election.
The Municipality of Port Hope has launched a “Meet the Candidates” webpage designed to provide electors with information about those seeking municipal office in the 2026 election.
The page includes candidate profiles for those running for mayor and councillor positions. Candidates were given the opportunity to voluntarily submit a photo, contact information, website and social media links, and a short platform message.
The municipality says all information published on the page was provided directly by the candidates and was not altered or edited by municipal staff.
Contact information for school board trustee candidates is also available through the webpage.
Municipal Clerk and Returning Officer Shrishma Davé says the resource is intended to provide voters with a centralized and convenient way to learn more about the people seeking office.
The municipality previously offered a similar service during the 2022 Municipal Election and again during the 2024 Ward 2 by-election.
Port Hope residents will be able to vote online or by telephone beginning Friday, October 16th at 10 a.m. Voting will remain open until Monday, October 26th at 8 p.m.
Residents can find the Meet the Candidates page and additional election information, including important dates, voting instructions and frequently asked questions, through the Port Hope municipal election website.
