The Municipality of Port Hope has launched an online resource designed to help voters learn more about candidates seeking office in the 2026 municipal election.
The new “Meet the Candidates” page is available through porthopevotes.ca and provides a centralized source of information about those running for mayor and council.
Candidates are invited to voluntarily submit a photo, contact information, website and social media links, along with a brief platform message. The information is provided directly by candidates and is not edited by municipal staff.
The page also includes contact information for candidates running for school board trustee positions.
Port Hope residents will be able to cast their ballots online or by telephone beginning at 10 a.m. on Oct. 16. Voting will remain open until 8 p.m. on Oct. 26.
The municipality says the resource is intended to encourage informed participation by making candidate information easier for electors to access ahead of voting day.
