The University of Toronto Varsity Blues split four games during the Ontario University Softball (OUS) Opening Weekend in Cobourg.
The Blues opened their 2026 season Saturday with convincing wins over the Guelph Gryphons and Laurier Golden Hawks, beating Guelph 11-1 before shutting out Laurier 4-0.
Toronto’s momentum faded Sunday with losses to the Brock Badgers and Western Mustangs. The Blues fell 8-1 to Brock before dropping a 9-5 decision to Western to close out the two-day showcase in Cobourg.
Jorja Sandilands had a strong weekend offensively for Toronto, collecting four RBI against Guelph and adding three more hits over the final two games.
The Blues now hit the road for doubleheaders against Queen’s in Kingston on Sept. 19 and TMU in Toronto on Sept. 20.
