Three people have been arrested following the conclusion of a drug trafficking investigation by the Cobourg Police Service.
Police say members of the Street Crime Enforcement Unit, with assistance from the Canine Unit and Uniform Patrol, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in Newtonville on September 18th as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in Cobourg and surrounding areas.
Police seized 58 grams of cocaine, 93 grams of crack cocaine, scales and cellphones. The total street value of the drugs is estimated at approximately 18-thousand dollars.
Charged are 55-year-old Garth Brown of Port Hope, 30-year-old Bailey Lawrence of Port Hope and 36-year-old Justin Stanley of Cobourg.
All three face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking a Schedule One substance — cocaine — and possession of proceeds of crime under five-thousand dollars.
Brown is additionally charged with failing to comply with probation.
Lawrence is also charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule One substance.
Police say all three were held in custody for bail hearings.
