The Ontario government says it is investing more than $6.1 million to support health-care services and infrastructure in Northumberland-Peterborough South.
The funding announced by MPP David Piccini includes investments at Northumberland Hills Hospital, Campbellford Memorial Hospital and the Community Health Centres of Northumberland.
Northumberland Hills Hospital is receiving $4,583,613 in total funding.
That includes $2,909,700 in additional base funding for 2026-27, representing a 3.1 per cent increase from the previous fiscal year.
The hospital is also receiving $1,284,713 through the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund for infrastructure improvements, including replacement of its cooling tower, as well as $389,200 in Incremental Surgical Recovery Funding to support additional surgical activity.
Campbellford Memorial Hospital is receiving $1,410,776.
That includes $1,116,700 in additional base funding for 2026-27, $175,576 for infrastructure renewal and $118,500 for additional CT hours to increase diagnostic imaging capacity.
The Community Health Centres of Northumberland are receiving $189,070 through the Community Infrastructure Renewal Fund for HVAC upgrades.
The province says the combined investments total $6,183,459 and will support hospital operations, infrastructure improvements, additional diagnostic imaging capacity and surgical care.
Northumberland Hills Hospital CEO Susan Walsh says the funding will help with infrastructure needs and areas of growing demand, including surgical services.
Campbellford Memorial Hospital CEO Jeff Hohenkerk says the investment will help improve clinical infrastructure and expand CT capacity while the hospital continues working toward a new facility.
The Community Health Centres of Northumberland say their funding will help maintain clean air and consistent temperatures at their Port Hope location, which also serves as a cooling and warming centre during extreme weather.
