The Town of Cobourg says dredging operations in Cobourg Harbour will continue this week and throughout the fall to maintain safe water depths for the Canadian Coast Guard and other vessels.
Crews are removing accumulated sand and silt, beginning at the harbour entrance before moving to other areas as needed.
Residents may notice sand piles and holes along the beach as dredged material dries before being transported off-site. Safety fencing will remain in place.
A dredging supply trailer will also be stationed periodically in the marina parking lot.
The town has operated its Marie Dressler Dredge since 2009, maintaining Cobourg Harbour while also providing dredging services to neighbouring municipalities.
