Queenies marked 15 years of serving up a free Thanksgiving dinner for the Port Hope community on Sunday, Oct. 11, with residents lining Walton Street to collect a traditional holiday meal.
Owner Adam Pearson and his staff prepared turkey, stuffing, potatoes, vegetables, corn and gravy for the annual giveaway.
Preparation began days earlier, with Pearson cooking 11 turkeys Saturday before returning to the kitchen before dawn Sunday.
Local musicians also gathered outside the business for an impromptu jam session, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Pearson said the event is his way of thanking the community for its continued support. Donations were also accepted for Tammie’s Jammies.
