Northumberland Hills Hospital has recognized a group of young fundraisers who collected about $2,400 for the hospital foundation through its fifth annual Lemon-AID campaign.
The children and their families were thanked during an Oct. 5 gathering after organizing eight lemonade stands over the summer. The money will help purchase cozy beanies for patients at the Lions and Lioness Cancer and Supportive Care Clinic, along with stuffed toys for children undergoing surgery.
Foundation Chief Executive Officer Rhonda Cunningham praised the participants for their efforts, noting much of the money was raised through small donations.
The campaign was sponsored by Davis’s Your Independent Grocer in Port Hope, which provided gift cards to help participants launch their stands. More information about supporting the hospital is available at NHHFoundation.ca.
