Two people are facing drug trafficking charges after police seized suspected fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine worth an estimated $80,000 during a search in Port Hope.
Cobourg and Port Hope police executed a search warrant Oct. 14 as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in the area. Officers recovered about 162 grams of suspected fentanyl, 94 grams of cocaine and 26 grams of crystal methamphetamine, along with a knife, collapsible baton and items believed to be used in trafficking.
A 38-year-old Cobourg woman and a 36-year-old Port Hope man were jointly charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking three controlled substances and possession of unmarked cigarettes. Both were held in custody for bail hearings.
