Port Hope Police will receive nearly $230,000 in provincial funding to help prevent vehicle thefts and disrupt criminal networks.
The grant will provide officers with additional tools and resources to build on the recent decline in stolen vehicles, according to Northumberland-Peterborough South MPP David Piccini.
Police Chief Farquharson said the funding will help the service develop local initiatives while contributing to Ontario’s broader efforts to combat auto theft and related criminal activity.
