The OPP has charged a second person in connection with an investigation into a vehicle collision and the recovery of stolen property in Trent Hills and Havelock.
Officers responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a pickup truck on Concession Road 13 East in Trent Hills on Aug. 30. Two occupants fled on foot before police arrived. Investigators determined the truck had been reported stolen in Durham Region in 2021 and was displaying licence plates registered to another vehicle.
The Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit arrested and charged one person on Oct. 6. Further investigation led officers to a property in Havelock, where they recovered a stolen enclosed trailer and a side-by-side off-road vehicle reported stolen from Madoc in August.
Following a public appeal for information, police identified a second suspect. Adam Livingstone, 39, of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township was arrested Oct. 21 and charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.
He is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in December. Police thanked members of the public whose information helped advance the investigation.
