There’s been a death at Transition House.
According to Marsha Jones, chair of the board of Transition House Shelter, emergency services were called to the shelter at around 11:35 p.m. Monday (Sept 30) when a client was found unresponsive.
Jones adds that attempts to resuscitate the client were unsuccessful and that Transition House sends condolences to the person’s family and friends.
The cause of death is not known at this time.
Jones stresses that there are no risks to the health or safety of other Transition House clients or staff in connection with this incident.
Transition House on Chapel Street in Cobourg is an emergency, short-term shelter for men and women 18 and older, that continues to operate at full capacity.
