setting to learn in, in the great outdoors has come to the grounds of Percy Centennial Public School.
A year in the making, Principal Julie Gray says the project was a community effort.
For example, Gray says a parent who is a local arborist, donated a huge tree trunk which is being used as a table and some stump stools to sit on.
The School Council funded the flagstone but the labour required for laying the flagstone was donated. And Grade 8 students helped with the installation, which was a learning experience in the trades for them.
Additionally, Gray says the Union of Correctional Officers at Warkworth Penitentiary donated $1500 for the project.
