The Cobourg Public Library and Let’s Talk Books in downtown Cobourg have joined forces.
Tammy Robinson, chief executive officer of the Cobourg Public Library, tells us about the new partnership.
Robinson says getting these new books donated to the library will reduce waitlists for books and increases the variety of titles in the catalogue.
The CEO adds due to COVID-19, they got a zero per cent increase to their budget from the Town of Cobourg.
Robinson also touches on why it’s so important to support small, locally-owned businesses like Let’s Talk Books.
She says libraries often turn to businesses for support, and now it’s time for the CPL to return the favour.
The library will also accept items not on their wishlist, but some items may be turned away.
Robinson explains other ways you can make a donation.
Robinson reminds the community that you are able to go inside the library once again, but if you’re not comfortable with that, you can place items on hold over the phone or online, and then use a new pick-up window at the library to safely pickup your materials.
