Habitat for Humanity Northumberland broke ground on its newest project in Hastings this past Thursday.
The lot will eventually hold a single detached house, and construction will start in the coming weeks with most of it taking place over the summer months.
The land at 57 Queen Street was acquired through a partnership with the Municipality of Trent Hills.
Once it’s completed, the family who moves in will be the 63rd family in the community to purchase an affordable home through Habitat’s homeownership program here in Northumberland County.
This is also the second Habitat home built within the Municipality of Trent Hills.
If you’d like to volunteer for this build project, contact Melissa Cranston, Community & Fund Development Coordinator (289-252-0999 ext. 29, volunteer@habitatnorthumberland.ca) or visit www.habitatnorthumberland.ca.
