It was fate and Facebook that brought Amanda Alexander and Darcie Czop together to open the new Trent Hills Foot Care Clinic in Campbellford.
Darcie put a post on Facebook asking if there was any interest in the community for a foot care clinic and Amanda saw her post and messaged her, saying she too was a foot care nurse, and maybe they could partner on this idea.
Together, they opened Trent Hills Foot Care Clinic located at 174 Oliver Rd, Unit 11, which is on the bottom level behind the Multi-care Lodge next to the Campbellford Memorial Hospital.
“We both bring experienced advanced nursing and diabetic foot care to our clinic,” said Darcie Czop.
They chose to open their clinic in Campbellford because this type of care was not previously available there.
“We are so excited to be bringing this care to our community where there is much need for this service,” added Darcie Czop.
Darcie Czop is a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) and has a mobile foot care practice, and Amanda Alexander was a wound care nurse in the community, and she has worked with patients who had foot complications related to diabetes.
“We both have the skills and knowledge to help a wide variety of food conditions,” said Darcie Czop. “We look at everything from the knee down, including a patient’s gait. We can also liaison with my client’s doctor or other healthcare professions when needed.”
They also spend a lot of time educating clients on proper foot care and the importance of footwear too because they both believe that healthy feet are your best foundation.
Although seniors make up the largest group in their clinic, all ages are welcome!
