Every year, the salmon swim up the Ganaraska River in Port Hope to spawn, and this year there will be a celebration to mark the occasion.
Run Salmon Run is a multiple day event being organized by Sean Carthew of the Ontario Street Theatre.
Filled with many salmon themed events, foods, and crafts, he hopes people will be able to celebrate the yearly migration in a different way.
One of the featured events, which is now sold out, is the Fete en Rose, an event where everyone involved wears pink.
Carthew said it will be a sight to behold.
He added there will also be a Go Fish tournament that kids can play in, and several celebrity chefs cooking salmon and fish themed dishes.
The events kick off on Thursday and continue on through to Saturday with a celebration in Rotary Park.
