A new five year partnership between Blue Cross and Make-A-Wish Canada will make it possible to grant thousands of travel wishes to more than 26,000 Make-A-Wish children and their families.
227 wishes of all kinds were granted to children with critical illness in Ontario from October 1 last year with more than thirteen hundred pending. 27 travel wishes were either granted or booked for children with critical illness from Eastern Ontario with 148 wishes of all kinds still pending.
The new money from Blue Cross is the largest gift in the history of the 30-year partnership and is the largest value ever committed by any partner to Make-A-Wish Canada.
In honour of this Saturday’s World Wish Day – Make-A-Wish Canada and Blue Cross will also resume granting international travel wishes, following a nearly three-year pandemic pause.
