The OPP are warning the public, particularly those potentially at risk of self-harm, they should be on the look out for packages containing a potentially lethal substance.
The packages contain sodium nitrite and also known as salt peter and was being sold and distributed by mail.
It is a food preservative and not toxic, but can be deadly in high doses.
Ongoing investigation has found that packages may have been sent to more than a dozen communities across the province, as well as other parts of the world.
If you or someone in your home has received a package from one of the businesses listed below, please contact the OPP or your local police service immediately.
