The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has lifted the permit requirement for casting a line, May 13th and 14th.
All lakes, rivers and streams in the province can be fished without a permit.
The provincial government says the gesture aims to bring families, including first-time anglers, together to celebrate Mother’s Day outdoors.
If you are fishing for free on the Mother’s Day weekend, all conservation license catch limits, size limits, sanctuaries and all other fishing regulations and rules still apply.
