A massive search in Northumberland County after a child went missing Thursday has ended in tragedy after the tot was found dead.
On Thursday, police received information regarding a child who had gone missing from an address in Hamilton Township. The child was subsequently located deceased at the address.
According to Global News, the child was found approximately an hour after she was discovered missing and taken to Northumberland Hills Hospital.
The Crime Unit and the Central Region Forensic Identification Services are continuing the investigation, under the direction of the OPP’s Criminal Investigation Branch and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario.
Police are advising there is no threat to public safety.
