Through an established partnership with Stevenson Building Products, the CCC will be getting a newly-revamped scoreboard hanging from the rafters over the Cougars rink.
Director of Operations with SBP, Dustin Heenan, says having their name on a community hub was a no-brainer.
Heenan’s efforts set forth action for Director of Community Services Brian Geerts to get the ball rolling on what kind of project this partnership could lead to.
After landing on the realization that the CCC scoreboard was coming up on the end of its 10-to-12-year lifespan, which lifelong hockey fan Heenan saw as a prime opportunity.
Heenan told us he’s a former Cougar himself, and to name this SBP’s largest is a proud moment for him.
This scoreboard brings a big-game feel to the town of Cobourg, and will feature many new functions for sports, graduations, or other events. Namely, Heenan says there will be a “cool horn” for the kids.
The rectangular board is expected to be in the rafters by the beginning of 2024 to start off a new season of play for either the Cougars or Kodiaks who will take the field.
