A collision at the front entrance of NHH caused extensive damage and visitors were advised they’d need to use the Emergency or Dialysis entrance.
According to NHH’s Vice President, Patient Experience, Public Affairs and Strategic Partnerships Jennifer Gillard, Cobourg Police and Fire were on the scene quickly.
Gillard told us no one in the hospital was injured and the driver and passenger of the vehicle were taken to Emergency for assessment.
In a release issued just after 5 p.m. today, President and CEO Susan Walsh said the following:
“The area in and around the main entrance is now open again to the public. The main entrance is a busy place at any time of the day – it is particularly busy first thing in the morning, when this occurred, and we are very fortunate that there were no serious injuries. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as teams worked diligently to ensure that the main entrance could be secured and safely reopened. Thank you to all who supported the response.”
