Next years solar eclipse will see most students off for the day
In Peterborough, Victoria, Northumberland, and Clarington, Catholic trustees have opted to move the professional activity day from April 26, 2024, to April 8, 2024, due to a total solar eclipse.
Many school boards are considering similar changes for safety reasons during dismissal.
The eclipse, projected from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., aligns with students leaving school which could pose potential eye damage risks.
Parents can expect educational materials to be sent home, allowing for a secure exploration of this historic event on April 8, 2024.
