The highly anticipated Quinte International Air Show (QIAS) is back at 8 Wing/CFB Trenton on June 29 and 30, promising a spectacular weekend of aviation marvels. This year’s show marks the centenary of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), featuring an unforgettable lineup of aerial performances and ground displays.
The sky will come alive with demonstrations from the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the CF-18 Demo Team sporting a special RCAF 100 paint scheme, and the Italian Frecce Tricolori. The event will also include thrilling performances from the U.S. Air Force’s F-16 Viper Demo Team and a commemorative flypast featuring vintage RCAF aircraft.
“We have curated an exceptional lineup of air show performers and captivating static displays for the Quinte International Air Show at 8 Wing/CFB Trenton this weekend,” says Lieutenant-Colonel Steve Thompson, QIAS 2024 Co-Chair. “From spectacular aerial displays to up-close encounters with military aircraft, this air show will be an unforgettable experience for all ages. Join us for an aviation filled weekend with activities for the whole family and the chance to celebrate the rich heritage of the Royal Canadian Air Force in its 100th year of service.”
Beyond the skies, visitors can explore static displays of military and civilian aircraft, engage in interactive STEM exhibits, and enjoy family-friendly zones with games and bouncy castles. The Kids Zone offers a quiet area with amenities for infants, ensuring a comfortable experience for all.
Aspiring aviators can meet their heroes at the autograph booth, and the event will be complemented by musical performances, including the 8 Wing Concert Band and the Canadian Military Wives Choirs.
