Environment Canada meteorologists are currently tracking a severe thunderstorm that may be producing a tornado. Alongside the potential tornado, the storm could bring damaging winds, large hail, and locally intense rainfall.
A thunderstorm located southwest of Point Petre, near the international border, is moving east at 40 knots and may be producing a tornado.
A squall warning is also in effect, with expected wind gusts up to 65 knots, frequent lightning, waterspout activity, and hail measuring 3 to 4 centimetres in diameter. Thunderstorms over Point Petre are tracking east at 40 knots and will persist through the afternoon.
Additionally, a strong wind warning is in effect for the marine area, with winds of 20 to 33 knots expected or occurring. For further details, refer to the latest marine forecasts and continue to monitor the situation through Canadian Coast Guard radio or Weatheradio stations.
