The Northumberland Hills Hospital (NHH) Foundation has celebrated the successful conclusion of its largest fundraising campaign, raising $26.3 million through the “Exceptional Community, Exceptional Care” initiative.
The campaign, which began in 2020 with an initial target of $20 million, later increased to $25 million, far surpassed expectations. Campaign Chair Hank Vandermeer expressed gratitude, saying, “The community rallied around us, and today, we celebrate not only achieving but surpassing our goal.”
Funds raised will support critical projects, including an Integrated Stroke Unit, replacing MRI and CT scanners, an upgraded meal delivery system, and expanding the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Susan Walsh, NHH President and CEO, commended the collective effort, highlighting that every donation, regardless of size, has helped enhance patient care. “Behind each donation is a human being with a story that propelled their decision to donate,” she noted.
NHH Chief of Staff, Dr. Mukesh Bhargava, emphasized that this milestone is just the beginning. “We see a hospital equipped with state-of-the-art technology, staffed by the best and brightest professionals,” he said.
