It’s been a busy couple days for Northumberland OPP with impaired driving, mischief, theft and additional charges laid.
Here’s your latest rundown:
Last Wednesday, Sept. 25, at about noon, police said they responded to a neighbour dispute in Cramahe.
The caller advised police that since early August they were experiencing an ongoing issue with their neighbour playing loud music for extended periods of time and recently with the complainant’s dwelling being illuminated with a strobe light, said police.
As a result of the investigation, police said on Sunday, Sept. 29, a 43-year-old Township of Cramahe resident was arrested and charged with mischief — obstructs, interrupts or interferes with any person in the lawful use, enjoyment or operation of property.
Last Thursday, Sept. 26, at about 8:30 a.m., police said they received a report about theft of alcohol on the previous day from a commercial premises in Fenella in the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 31-year-old from Campbellcroft resident was arrested on Sunday, Sept. 29 and charged with theft under $5,000 — shoplifting.
In another call on Saturday, Sept. 28, shortly before 6 p.m., OPP said they received a report about an individual fishing on private property in the Dale Road Port Hope area.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 38-year-old Toronto resident was charged with trespass for the purpose of fishing.
In a call Sunday, shortly before 1:30 a.m., officers received a traffic complaint about a vehicle parked on the hard shoulder on Hwy. 401 in Alnwick/Haldimand.
The caller was concerned as the door of the vehicle was open and the driver was unresponsive, said police.
EMS and OPP responded and police said they then entered an impaired driving investigation.
The driver was arrested and transported to a local detachment for further tests and while at the detachment the accused allegedly refused to comply with a demand, reported OPP.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 29-year-old Brampton resident was charged with operation while impaired — alcohol and drugs and failure or refusal to comply with demand.
The accused also had their licence suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for seven days, reported police.
On Monday, Sept. 30, at about 3:40 p.m., police said an officer was on patrol on Burnham Street North when they got an alert in the car through their automated licence plate recognition system about a suspended driver.
The corresponding vehicle was stopped and the driver confirmed to be prohibited, said OPP.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 67-year-old Gores Landing resident was arrested and charged with operation while prohibited.
The accused also had their vehicle impounded for 45 days.
