Cobourg residents are encouraged to nominate local volunteers for the 22nd Annual Civic Awards, celebrating those who make a positive impact in the community.
The awards feature two categories: Major awards for individuals with more than five years of volunteer contributions and distinguished awards for those with at least one year of service.
Themed “Pay It Forward,” the 2025 ceremony will honour recipients on April 29 during National Volunteer Week at Victoria Hall’s Concert Hall.
Mayor Lucas Cleveland called the event “Cobourg’s feel-good celebration of the year,” adding, “volunteers work behind-the-scenes for the greater good, and this is our chance to thank them.”
This year’s host is Graham Beer, a past award recipient and founder of Cobourg Media, who has raised over $100,000 for local causes.
Nominations are open until Feb. 21. To nominate someone special, residents can review award categories, complete the online form, and submit any required supporting documents at cobourg.ca/civic-awards.
The Civic Awards committee is also thanking local sponsors, including Frank Bouwmans Cabinetry and Lakefront Utilities, for their support.
