A local landmark decades in the making has received a ringing endorsement.
In its annual ’52 Places To Go’ feature, the New York Times has listed the Trent-Severn Waterway as a must-visit destination in 2025. It is the only Canadian entry on the list, with writer AnneLise Sorensen noting the waterway system “is experiencing a renaissance.’
Ontario Waterway external relations manager Karen Feeley says the New York Times mention is something that can be leveraged heading into the boating season.
Feeley notes the waterway’s listing coincides with major investments being made into the system’s modernization and upkeep.
Looking ahead to the 2025 season, Feeley says a familiar nemesis will determine how things play out.
Getting special mention in the article were waterway-connected features such as the Canadian Canoe Museum and the 100 Acre Brewing Company as well as the annual Taste of the TSW event.
