The 2025 Ontario Women’s and Men’s Curling Championships concluded today at the Cobourg Community Centre, with Team Inglis and Team Mooibroek claiming victory in their respective finals.
On the women’s side, Team Inglis triumphed over Team Brandwood with a score of 8-4. The winning team consists of skip Danielle Inglis, third Kira Brunton, second Calissa Daly and lead Cassandra de Groot.
We asked Skip Danielle Inglis how it felt repeat as champs.
For the men, Team Mooibroek secured their championship title by defeating defending Ontario champs Team Howard in a 7-4 match that finished in nine ends. Team Mooibroek is led by skip Sam Mooibroek, with third Ryan Wiebe, second Scott Mitchell, and lead Nathan Steele, coached by Jake Higgs.
We caught up with Skip Sam Mooibroek after the win.
Coach Jake Higgs was glowing with praise for the young team’s first provincial victory.
Both teams will now represent Ontario on the national stage. Team Inglis will compete at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay and Team Mooibroek at the Brier in Kelowna, British Columbia in the coming weeks.
