A Trent Hills resident has been charged after Northumberland OPP says police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle.
According to police, on Saturday, Feb. 1, at about 4 p.m., OPP received a report about a suspicious vehicle, which was stationary near a County Road 35 residence in the Municipality of Trent Hills.
The passenger vehicle was unknown to the caller and believed to have two occupants inside, reported OPP.
Paramedics were also initially dispatched but then called off.
While speaking with the occupants, police allege they observed suspected drugs on one of the individuals.
The drugs were reportedly seized and the accused placed under arrest. Police said the suspected cocaine seized had an approximate street value of $120.
As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old Trent Hills resident was charged with possession of a schedule I substance – cocaine.
This charge has not been proven in court. The accused will appear in Cobourg court at a later date.
