Chambers of Commerce in Ontario are meeting regularly to discuss the tariff dispute.
With a lot of American based companies having operations in eastern Ontario, Quinte West Chamber of Commerce CEO Suzanne Andrews says strategizing and taking action is complicated.
Andrews says Chambers are in the process of getting business feedback through a series of surveys, on possible tariff implications.
Andrews says for a community that’s built around international manufacturing, it’s a nervous time for businesses in Quinte West.
Andrews notes currency and stock market uncertainty due to the tariff dispute, is also a weight on businesses.
Andrews say the Canadian Chamber of Commerce has created an online tariff tracker that shows how business is conducted across the Canada / U.S. border.
