Northumberland County is seeking input from parents and caregivers to help improve local child and family services.
The County’s Early Years Services survey is now open to parents, caregivers of children aged 12 and under, and soon-to-be parents. Feedback will help guide Northumberland’s Early Years Services 5-Year Plan (2026-2030), which will focus on improving services like licensed child care, EarlyON programs, child care fee subsidies, and more.
“Our community continues to experience a high demand for child and family services,” said Lesley Patterson, Northumberland’s Early Years Manager. “Despite workforce challenges across Ontario, we’ve worked closely with providers to expand licensed child care spaces.”
Since 2022, the County has increased the number of licensed child care spaces by 35 per cent and expects to add 404 more spaces by the end of 2026.
“As we continue to expand services, we want to hear from families to better understand what services they need and where,” Patterson said.
Families who complete the survey by April 11th can enter to win one of five $25 gift cards. For details and to take the survey, visit JoinIn.Northumberland.ca.
