A 25-year-old Cramahe resident is facing assault charges after an alleged family dispute in Brighton, say Northumberland OPP.
Police said on April 8, at about 2:25 p.m., they responded to a report of an assault in the Daniels Drive Brighton area.
After arriving on scene, police said their investigation resulted in one person being taken into custody. Paramedics also responded for one individual who sustained non-serious injuries, reported OPP.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 25-year-old Cramahe man was charged with assault with a weapon and assault.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
The accused will appear in Cobourg court at a future date and will not be named to protect the identity of the victim, said police.
No other details were released by police.
