A Colborne man is facing impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle crash in Otonabee-South Monaghan Township.
Peterborough County OPP said officers were called around 4:30 a.m. on April 13 to a vehicle in a ditch on Hwy. 7. A witness had arrived shortly after the crash and called police, telling them they suspected the driver was impaired, reported OPP.
The witness remained on scene until officers arrived.
After speaking with the driver, police allege they determined he was impaired and placed him under arrest.
The 21-year-old from Colborne has been charged with operation while impaired, operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80, and novice driver with a blood alcohol concentration above zero.
The accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
