When asked about the top issues in the Northumberland-Clarke riding ahead of the 2025 federal election, Liberal candidate John Goheen says fighting tariffs, affordability and job creation are at the forefront.
Goheen is one of seven candidates who’ve tossed their hats into the ring hoping to secure the MP’s seat in Northumberland-Clarke.
As part of MBC’s candidate profiles, we asked Goheen to tell us a little more about who he is and his background.
“I am a husband and a father. I have three young boys,” says Goheen. “I’ve also been an educator with the Kawartha, Pine Ridge District School Board for 26 years roughly.”
Twenty-one of those years were spent in administration – including as a vice-principal and principal – with his education work stretching across the riding, explains Goheen, adding that through this experience, he got to know what a great spot Northumberland-Clarke is.
Goheen tells us about how his work in education – and his family – are among the inspirations behind his decision to run in the April 28 election.
When asked about the top three issues in the riding, Goheen zeroed in on affordability, job creation and fighting tariffs. He tells us more.
