A Cramahe man is facing charges after an investigation into an alleged theft from a Brighton business earlier this year, say police.
According to Northumberland OPP, officers received a report on Feb. 26, 2025, about a theft at a commercial premises on Main Street in the Municipality of Brighton. Police said a phone and purse were stolen during the incident. The individual involved had reportedly left the scene before police arrived.
Following an investigation, police said they issued a warrant for the arrest of the accused.
On April 10, 2025, the suspect was arrested by a neighbouring police service. He was then transferred into the custody of Northumberland OPP.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 33-year-old Township of Cramahe man was charged with theft under $5,000, use of a credit card obtained by crime and failure to comply with a probation order.
None of these charges have been proven in court.
