A Cobourg woman is facing charges after a shoplifting investigation earlier this month.
The Cobourg Police Service said officers responded to a report of theft at a business on Elgin Street West on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
According to police, an individual concealed merchandise and left the store without making any attempt to pay.
Investigators reviewed video surveillance and identified a suspect. On Saturday, April 12, officers on general patrol located and arrested the suspect, who was wanted in connection with the incident, reported police.
As a result of the investigation, police said a 33-year-old Cobourg woman was charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and two counts of failure to comply with probation.
Police said the woman was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on a future date.
